What you’ve heard is true. The Ben and Jerry’s Truck arrived in Boston today and will be roaming the city for four weeks handing out free ice cream. Today it stopped at the Boston Common, Faneuil Hall, and Harvard Sq. I caught the truck on its second stop of the day. I feared massive crowds after seeing Twitter pictures of insanely long lines at the Boston Common stop. I don’t know if the chose this precise spot in Faneiul Hall ahead of time, or if they decided last minute to park far away to institute some crowd control. I do know that there were some disgruntled ice cream lovers who were not able to find the truck at its second stop.

I was hoping they would have some of the highly publicized new flavors like Boston Cream Pie. Alas, it was only the classics, Mint Chocolate Cookie, Chocolate Fudge Brownie Fro Yo, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, and Cherry Garcia. I do believe those are the Ben and Jerry’s greatest hits.
The truck made its last stop of the day in Harvard Square, outside John Harvard’s Brew House on Dunster Street. The truck is supposedly in town for a month, so if you want them to come to a certain location, tweet it to them and go git yer ice cream!!!
