Geoff and Drew’s Cookies

This, right here, is a pretty fantastic cookie. It is a double fudge cookie and it comes from Geoff & Drew’s, a company located right here in Massachusetts that specializes in gift baskets of delicious cookies, brownies, and other delights. They bake all of the cookies and brownies fresh every day at their headquarters in Malden, using high-quality all-natural ingredients.

A while back, Carol, Chief Cookie Girl at Geoff & Drew’s (that is her actual title) emailed me asking if I’d like to try their cookies. I replied back, would I ever, and also, would it be possible to visit their headquarters so I could see the production. I visited a few weeks ago, just as they were gearing up for the holiday rush. They had hundreds of cookies and brownies packaged up, all baked that morning, ready to be packed into gift boxes and baskets. Geoff and Drew’s offers an array of gift boxes, both small and large, perfect the holidays.

Geoff & Drew’s signature design is the brown and blue polka dot scheme. Gifts come packaged in their signature polka dot boxes. They make the same box in other color schemes specially for each holiday. When you order, you can choose what you want to go in a box: cookies, brownies, and other gourmet specialty items.

One of the absolute cutest items that Geoff and Drew’s makes is geared toward corporate clients. If a company is trying to get its foot in the door, so to speak, with a potential client, they can do so by sending the foot in the door gift box. Two shortbread “feet” cookies are packaged inside their signature door box.

Geoff & Drew’s bakes several flavors of cookies and brownies. The double fudge cookie, pictured at top, may have been my favorite. All of the G&D cookies are thin and chewy. The double fudge is packed with soft chunks of dark chocolate.

If you prefer something less dark and intense, the classic chocolate chip cookie has the same large chunks of chocolate but set in a lighter, buttery dough.

Special for the holidays, G&D has two cookies made with dried cranberries. The first is a sweet and festive white chocolate cranberry. It is a very chunky cookie, with smooth white chocolate that nicely complements the chewy cranberries.

The second is a hearty oatmeal cranberry, a fun twist on the classic oatmeal raisin. The cookie apparently was so enticing I commenced eating it before photographing it.

The toffee brownie was another item too good to wait to photograph. The brownie is moist and fudgy with a soft and sugary toffee topping.

There is a standard chocolate chip brownie, a mint brownie, and for the M&M lover in your life, Geoff & Drew’s also makes an M&M brownie.
