Coolhaus Ice Cream Truck

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, I bring you a guest post from one of my favorite fellow foodies: my mom! She recently got to visit a brand new food truck in New York and was excited to share her experience. You can check out her blog here.
Big ice cream sandwiches have come to the Big Apple. The cool silver Coolhaus Ice Cream Truck has come to NYC from points west (mainly LA) to dispense ice cream sandwiches that are all-natural, handmade, and mostly organic. To give us a preview, CoolHaus was giving out free ice cream sandwiches in Soho, Bryant Park, Union Square, and Madison Square Park this weekend (Ed: the event was sponsored by Mozilla, hence the Mozilla theme).

The cookies are big, the ice cream is sublime, and the flavors are intense. We tasted three of their combinations and loved all three.

Mozilli Vanilli – Rich Madagascar vanilla bean ice cream on chocolate chip cookies. A true classic.

Foxy Brown – Nutella toasted almond ice cream on chewy oatmeal cookies. Nutella lovers now have a new obsession.

The Chilla from Mozilla – Citrusy blood orange sorbet on salted chocolate cookies. The sorbet was an unexpected burst of flavor and the combination was brilliant.

A new destination for summer treats! Thanks to Jessie and Tiffany of The Barbarian Group for kindly arranging the tasting.
